Henry set to start as Barca look to book semi-final place

Frank Rijkaard is set to start with Thierry Henry in a front three as Barcelona take a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Schalke.

Bojan Krkic, who scored the only goal in Gelsenkirchen, and Samuel Eto'o are expected to join the former Arsenal striker in Barcelona's vanguard.

Starter: Henry will start at the Nou Camp this evening

Argentina wonderkid Lionel Messi, who is recovering from a knee injury, trained with his team-mates last night but is not ready to return to the side.

Under-fire Brazil star Ronaldinho is out with a thigh injury and joins midfielder Deco, defender Oleguer and reserve keeper Albert Jorquera in the treatment room.

Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 10 games against German teams, winning nine, and face the victor of Manchester United v Roma, should they get through.

Meanwhile, former Rangers star Peter Lovenkrands is in Scotland at the bedside of his seriously ill daughter, so will miss the game for Schalke.

The German side also have doubts over defenders Heiko Westermann (ankle), Christian Pander (groin) and Mladen Krstajic (knee).

Germany international Jermaine Jones will be back in the midfield, though, after serving a suspension for the first leg in Gelsenkirchen. And highly rated strikers Halil Altintop and Kevin Kuranyi are expexcted to start.

But Zlatan Bajramovic, Ivan Rakitic and Markus Heppke remain on the list of long-term absentees.

Coach Mirko Slomka, whose side are unbeaten in five games, says it will take a "heroic" effort to reach the last four, but insists: "If we play to our maximum potential and individual players such as Halil stand out, we can win the game."
