Hodgson in race to seal deal for AJ

Roy Hodgson plans to rush through Andrew Johnson's move to Fulham as soon as the team return to England to stop West Ham or Sunderland snatching the striker.

The manager expected the deal to be done during Fulham's tour of Korea, but now fears Johnson could end up at a Premier League rival if Everton continue to hold up the £10.5million transfer.

It seems Everton manager David Moyes does not want to let him leave until he has a replacement but Hodgson will attempt to push the deal through next week.

Fulham are adamant they will not increase their offer.

West Ham are weighing up a move for Johnson as their own striker, Craig Bellamy, is wanted by Manchester City. Sunderland boss Roy Keane is also interested as Kenwyne Jones has a knee injury.
