Hodgson's hurting after another Fulham defeat

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson blamed bad luck after Louis Saha's injury-time header saw Fulham lose 1-0 at Everton.

The former Manchester United striker scored his first goal for his new club to deny the visitors a deserved point.

"That was cruel given the way we worked so hard," said the manager. "We had chances and we probably deserved even to win.

"We didn't take our chances and that is the key. We should have been ahead long before the end. For the last five minutes they had five forwards on the pitch and were chancing their arm. What happened was what we dreaded.

"I congratulated my team on their performance generally, but that does not take away the pain of defeat. They felt that pain just like me, so I would not direct any blame after such an effort."
