Hull agree a King's ransom for Marlon who heads to the KC for talks

Wigan striker Marlon King has left the club's pre-season training camp in Austria to have talks with Hull City boss Phil Brown about a move to the KC Stadium.

Premier League new boys Hull have agreed a club record £3m fee with Wigan for the striker.

'We’ve agreed terms with Wigan,' said Brown. 'It’s about getting it right in the transfer
market, not doing it quickly.'

Wigan stand to lose around £2m on King after splashing out £5m to land him from Watford just seven months ago.

Hull have had a busy off-season in the transfer market in a bid to make sure their first season in the top-flight does not end after one year.

The Tigers have already signed Peter Halmosi, George Boateng and Tony Warner as well as French international Bernard Mendy.
