Hull City offer former Bolton star Giannakopoulos a Premiership lifeline

Hull City have offered former Bolton midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos £8,000 a week to help keep them in the Premier League.

Manager Phil Brown is confident of persuading the 33-year-old free agent to sign after working with the Greek star at his former club Bolton.

Brown said: 'I will be talking to his agent and I will be talking to the player himself soon. He has gone back to Greece with his family, who I know very well, and he has only just finished his season with Greece at Euro 2008.

'I'm sure there will be an opportunity to speak to him in the near future.'
