I couldn't turn down United, says Anelka

Nicolas Anelka admits the opportunity to join Manchester United would be too good to turn down.

Sir Alex Ferguson needs a striker to complete his transfer dealings for the summer and Anelka, 28, has emerged as a target alongside Dimitar Berbatov, Samuel Eto'o, Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Javier Saviola.

Scroll down to read more:

Bolton striker Anelka said: "There has been no contact with any other club for my signature but if there was, then of course I couldn't say no to a club like Manchester United.

"I have to find out what Bolton want to do first. I don't want to leave and it's their decision because any offers will be made to my club, not me."

Bolton are ready to demand a swap deal involving Alan Smith or Kieran Richardson.
