I love London but QPR wasn't right for me

Former Palermo boss Francesco Guidolin turned down the QPR job despite his love of London.

The Italian spoke to Rangers' owner Flavio Briatore before Luigi de Canio took the post.

Guidolin said: "London fascinates me, but I knew it wasn't the right choice so I didn't consider it."

Meanwhile QPR defender Martin Cranie broke his leg in the 2-1 defeat against Coventry.

The England Under-21 international has played six games since moving on loan from Portsmouth last month but has now returned to Fratton Park.

"Martin has been fantastic since he joined us and it's a real blow," said Rangers physio Paul Hunter.

Cranie wasn't the only QPR casualty last night as Mikele Leigertwood broke his nose while Marc Nygaard suffered a hamstring injury.
