Ramos claims Spurs played at a similar level 10 days ago to win the Carling Cup Final at Wembley and land the club's first trophy for nine years.

He said: "I like the way Arsenal played in Milan. They were magnificent and deserved the victory over two legs, but I'm not jealous. We played similar good football in the final."

The Spaniard believes their UEFA Cup tie against Dutch leaders PSV Eindhoven, the first leg of which is at home tomorrow, will show whether his squad can win the competition.

"We will be able to see after this game if the players have the ability to compete on this stage," Ramos said.

"It hurt all of us to lose in the way we did at Birmingham last weekend. The players still have three months to show their strengths. I don't think the way they celebrated after the final had anything to do with it."
