Konchesky the Rover? Blackburn manager Paul Ince targets the Fulham left back, along with Vince Grella
Ince does not see Konchesky, 27, as a replacement for Stephen Warnock but as someone who can increase competition at Rovers.
Yet he faces a fight to hold on to Warnock with the England defender being swayed by interest from Newcastle.
Konchesky was a target for Blackburn under former boss Mark Hughes before he captured Warnock from Liverpool, 18 months ago.
Combative Grella, 28, is a defensive midfielder who has also attracted interest from Fulham, and Ince hopes to close the deal for around £3.5million.
Ince is also trying to seal a deal for MK Dons skipper Keith Andrews, and is ready to hand Robbie Fowler a short-term contract at Ewood Park.
Blackburn forward Paul Gallagher is joining Preston on a six-month loan after he turned down the chance to play in Norway for Viking Stavanger.
