Indian board says clash with Australia rules them out of Champions Trophy

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has objected to the Champions Trophy being held in October next year as it would clash with a scheduled series against Australia.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) will look to find space in a packed calendar for the postponed tournament at an executive committee meeting today in
Dubai.
Pakistan were scheduled to host the Champions Trophy from September 12-28 this
year, but the ICC postponed the event to October 2009 after several teams refused to tour due to security concerns.
India already have a series scheduled against Australia during the planned Champions Trophy
Pakistan retain the right to host the tournament, but the ICC have to resolve the contentious issue of a clash of dates with India scheduled to host Australia for seven one-day internationals in October with the first match tentatively scheduled for October 13 - three days after the end of the second edition of the Champions League.
'The Champions Trophy in October will not be possible for us since we are hosting Australia at that time,' BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah was quoted as saying by CNN-IBN.
'The one-day series against Australia is a very important fixture for us. The series has already been scheduled and we cannot do anything about it.
'All the boards will have to find another window for the Champions Trophy.'
