Injuries rock Bayern preparations

With Willy Sagnol out for the rest of the season after damaging his knee in the first leg - which ended in a 2-2 draw - coach Ottmar Hitzfeld is sweating over the fitness of no fewer than three other regulars.

Sweating on fitness test: Owen Hargreaves
Owen Hargreaves, Lucio and Hasan Salihamidzic are all struggling and their availability will only be decided after the final training session on Tuesday afternoon.
Bastian Schweinsteiger will have to wait even longer before knowing if he will be fit to face the Rossoneri at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
"Schweinsteiger is very doubtful," revealed Hitzfeld on Tuesday.
"He needed acupuncture yesterday evening and we will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon before taking a decision."
Mark van Bommel and Oliver Kahn both return from suspension, however, and Hitzfeld is delighted to have two leaders back on the field.
"Without van Bommel, and with a bit of luck maybe, we were able to draw 2-2 in Milan," he said.
"But to have him back, we are stronger and he has a great presence.
"He can play the decisive passes and I am delighted to have him and Kahn back."
While the personnel situation is Hitzfeld's major worry, he believes that whatever team he picks on Wednesday night, they will have what it takes to reach the semi-finals.
He said: "I am convinced that we will win this tie.
"If any player is out, it provides an opportunity for another to come in, like Andreas Ottl, who was excellent against Schalke, Milan and Hannover.
"We are playing against 11 excellent individuals, but we have matured as a team and can raise our game when required.
"I think tomorrow we will show our battling qualities and we are ready for a fight."
Kahn is not a player who can be accused of lacking determination, and he is in fighting mood ahead of his 103rd Champions League appearance.
"It is what we train for," said the goalkeeper.
"We all look forward to the Champions League games - it is always a highlight.
"We know that 2-2 from the first leg is a good result, but we must give over 100%.
"Milan are not beaten yet. They are a strong team and nobody is stupid enough to think that we can be successful with any less than 100%.
"Milan are world class and we know they are also strong away from home."
Kahn will also be hoping the Allianz Arena will provide a 12th man to the team on the night.
"We have always been strong in the Bundesliga and Champions League at the Allianz Arena," said Kahn.
Yet Hitzfeld is calling for patience from the home fans, who know that a goalless draw will be enough to see them through.
"It is dangerous to think we are already through, but I think our fans know that," said the coach.
"I think the fact we are at home with our own fans will give us 10 to 20% extra."
