It's just Fontaine for me, reveals Liverpool manager Benitez

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is pondering a shock £1m move for Bristol City defender Liam Fontaine.

The 22-year-old centre back was in the side beaten by Hull in the Championship Play-off Final on Saturday.

Dip in the market: Rafa Benitez

But reports in The Mirror suggest Fontaine could yet end up in the Premier League as Benitez looks to strengthen his squad.

Fontaine is versatile - he can play at left back and in midfield - and City manager Gary Johnson could struggle to hold on him, especially with Benitez offering Champions League football and City consigned to another season in the second tier.
