But the club suffered a setback when Caleb Folan, last week's record £1million signing from Wigan, was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury on his debut. He had to be carried off after a nine-minute delay for treatment.
Former Bolton favourite Okocha, 34, is well known to Hull boss Phil Brown from their time together under Sam Allardyce at the Reebok. He is clear to make the move despite the passing of the transfer deadline because he is a free agent.
After an uneventful first half, the game came to life after the break. Blackpool went ahead within 60 seconds when Gary Taylor-Fletcher capitalised on a slip from Andrew Dawson to intercept a low cross from Keigan Parker to score with an easy finish.
Hull hit back quickly, levelling three minutes later through skipper Ian Ashbee, who smashed in his shot when Folan stepped over the ball from a cross by Stuart Elliott.
Folan suffered his injury when he clashed heads with Blackpool's Kaspars Gorkss. Both players were unable to continue. Referee Kevin Friend added 11 minutes at the end.
Eight minutes into that Blackpool snatched victory when Ben Burgess headed the winner against his old club from a Parker cross.
