The home side’s unbeaten record was in doubt as early as the eighth minute when Sebastian Larsson’s free kick from the left flank went in off Bristol skipper Louis Carey’s head.
Carey and fellow centre back Liam Fontaine struggled to contain Birmingham striker
Jerome, who first threatened when he headed David Murphy’s left-wing cross in
the 18th minute.

In the 24th minute Murphy’s incisive pass from the left wing sent Jerome bearing
down on goal and he impudently nutmegged goalkeeper Adriano Basso.
Jerome went close to scoring his fourth of the campaign with a shot on the gallop
seven minutes before the break.
The home side’s only chance in the first half was a Lee Johnson free-kick that was
deflected wide but they improved in the second half and should have been awarded a penalty when Dele Adebola was held in the area.
The free kick was awarded outside the box and Maik Taylor pushed awayn Johnson’s curling shot.
But they were back in the game in the 79th minute when Lee Trundle seized on
a wayward clearance by Taylor to lob the ball into an empty net.
