John Magowan's victory over Chris Mason down to his shed

John MaGowan credited his garden shed after a surprise win at darts' PDC World Championship.

The 67-year-old qualifier beat Chris Mason 3-0 in the first round to register the biggest success of his career.

"I've been practising hard," he said. "I've been in my shed since I qualified and it's sharpened me up."

Former BDO world champion Jelle Klaasen thumped 10th seed Colin Lloyd 3-0, sixth seed Adrian Lewis saw off Russell Stewart 3-1 and Mervyn King beat China's Shi Yongsheng 3-0.
