Jol is the darling of the Spurs faithful and has become a cult figure with supporters as well as being widely respected by neutrals for his honest post-match opinions.

And the Dutchman admitted in the official Tottenham magazine, hotspur: "I love the life here. They say here 'born in England, live in England, die in England' and the last two could apply to me.

"I love to live in England. If i could have two passports, I would have British and Dutch. I'm proud I was born in Holland but I'm also proud to be here.

"When you think about it, my hometown is opposite Clacton-on-Sea. It's only a small distance."
