Jol to win Boateng race with £4.5m bid
12 July 2007
Sevilla were the first club to register an interest in the midfielder, lodging a £2.7million bid last week.

However, Tottenham weighed in with a £5.4m offer to put the approach of the UEFA Cup champions in the shade.
The Spanish club have since upped their offer but Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness favours the deal put together by Spurs, who expect to talk to the player's agent this weekend.
Boateng, 20, the self-styled 'Ghetto Kid' who had a tough upbringing in Berlin, admits he was preparing for Spain but Sevilla's capture of Lens midfielder Seydou Keita, coupled with Tottenham's interest, prompted a rethink.
"The Premier League is actually my dream league and so now I am thinking about Tottenham," he said.
