Joorabchian: Thrid-party ownership is concealed by Premier League clubs

Kia Joorabchian, the agent who brought Carlos Tevez to West Ham, has claimed there are "a lot of players" in the Barclays Premier League whose third-party ownership is being deliberately concealed from the authorities.

Tevez's move to West Ham led to a season-long controversy which saw the London club fined £5.5million for failing to disclose the details of the Argentinian's contract with Joorabchian's company, MSI.

But the Iranian businessman called for a "proper, open inquiry; a proper, open discussion" and insisted on Football Focus: "I know a lot players in the Premier League - and other leagues - which are here but are here in the same format as we have done but in a hidden scheme.

"They're registered with a small club and they are loaned to another league.

"We want to be very, very open. We won't hide behind another club."

He added: "If the Premier League think that Kia, that because Carlos Tevez has moved to Manchester United, then we'd like him to go away, then that's not going to happen.

"I have to prove I've done nothing wrong in this case."

Joorabchian defended his role in Tevez's career, claiming it enables players like him to find clubs.

"I make a career path for the player," he said."

"We don't sign the player for life. A lot of occasions, in South America in particular - as opposed to Europe - the club can't afford to keep the player, they need financing to keep the players."
