Jose: Pay row will not hurt Lampard

Jose Mourinho today insisted he has no concerns about Frank Lampard's contract dispute.

The midfielder has postponed talks on a new deal until next summer when he will have only one year left at Chelsea.

Lampard, 29, claims he wants to concentrate on winning trophies for the club but the hold-up cast doubt over his future.

Head coach Mourinho is confident the England international will commit to Chelsea long term, but he's not so sure about Arjen Robben and admitted for the first time today the winger could leave for Real Madrid.

Mourinho said: "The question with Lampard for me in terms of just being a football manager, I'm not worried because it is difficult to find a professional like him.

"I don't see one single difference between the Lampard I met four years ago with many years on his contract and the Lampard I have now with 22 months on his contract. He is exactly the same.

"He works the same, he plays the same, has the same motivation and the same commitment.I want him to stay for more than the two years, the club want that and he wants that so I think the natural tendency is one day they will agree a contract.

"I'm very confident about the long-term future because he wants to stay."

Robben is a different matter. He also has two years left on his contract but is refusing a new deal and wants to leave for Madrid.

A deal is expected to go through this month with Chelsea then hoping to sign Sevilla's Daniel Alves with the proceeds.

Mourinho said: "Until August 31 everything is possible in terms of people to come and people to go. Robben's situation has a lot of speculation but of course some is true and we have to wait a bit more to see."

Chelsea start the season at home to Birmingham on Sunday with their injury crisis beginning to ease. Only Michael Ballack, Wayne Bridge and John Terry are definitely ruled out.
