Juan hell of a mess: Spurs coach now claims he was forced out by Sevilla

Juande Ramos claims he was keen to leave Sevilla because of problems behind the scenes at the Spanish club.

And the 53-year-old coach says he wanted to leave in the summer but he was prevented by the La Liga side.

Ramos was widely criticised after he resigned last week to take over at Tottenham Hotspur.

He told Spanish radio station Radio Marca: "The situation became unsustainable because there are times when a club can trample on its coaches."

Ramos had claimed several clubs were interested in his services during the summer, but he had turned them down because he did not fancy the move.

But in the interview on Radio Marca he said: "Sevilla prevented me, not for any other reason."

Despite walking out of the post at the Sanchez Pizjuan, Ramos admits that it was a very difficult decision to make.

"I left with some sadness after all the years I have been there," he said.
