striker Salomom Kalou is looking forward to the new season and believes new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari will bring an exciting and attacking style of play to Stamford Bridge.
Kalou also had a dig at former boss Avram Grant claiming he was too cautious which left Chelsea unable to make the most of their chances last year - a problem which ultimately cost them dearly.
We're ready to fly: Salomon Kalou excited about a new attacking Chelsea
Kalou, the first player to score for Chelsea under Scolari, said: 'The manager wants to play an attacking game, which is exciting,.
'It's good for players who want to 'play' more. Last year it was more about teamwork, being defensive, not conceding goals and trying to score one, but this year it will be different.
'Players like Deco, Michael Ballack and Frank Lampard can really put good balls through to the strikers, so it's going to be a good season for us as forwards.
'We were too cautious last season. There were some games when we were waiting and waiting and didn't take our chances. This year we can make it better.
'Grant didn't really change anything, but you can see from the players Scolari's taken that things are going to be different.
'We never played that way before with Deco, Essien and Lampard, without wingers. It's the first time since I've been at Chelsea that we played with four midfielders and two strikers.
'The difference this season is every player tries to attack. This can make a difference because all our players are comfortable with this system.'
