Kameni turns down Spurs as Ramos insists he couldn't play in Africa Cup of Nations

Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni has turned down a £4.5m move to Tottenham because manager Juande Ramos asked him to give up playing in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Kameni, 24, was set to complete a move from Espanyol until he discovered Ramos wanted a clause written into his contract saying he would not be released for the mid-season tournament every other January.
