Kanoute's ready for shock Spurs return

Fredi Kanoute's agent claimed today that the striker could be on the verge of a dramatic return to Tottenham.
The Mali international left White Hart Lane for Sevilla in 2005 and helped the La Liga team to back-to-back UEFA Cup titles under Juande Ramos.
Fredi Kanoute: on the way back to White Hart Lane?
The Spanish coach named Kanoute and Daniel Alves as players he would like to bring to England when he took over from Martin Jol, although that was played down by club officials.
Now, with Dimitar Berbatov's future in doubt, agent Christophe Mongai claims he has spoken to Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli about bringing his 30-year-old client back to London.
Mongai said: "The door is open for Frederic Kanoute's January move.
"I have called Damien Comolli and he told me that he does not know yet if he wants to sign a striker. He asked me to call him back on 15 December to discuss the situation.
In his Tottenham days: Fredi Kanoute
"I am sure that most of January's transfers will be done in the last 15 days of the transfer window.
"Frederic loves London, his family, too. He likes Tottenham very much and a return there in January is possible.
"Frederic has a very good relationship with Juande Ramos since their common Sevilla adventure. He is 30 but is not a tired player, like Patrick Kluivert for example.
"Sevilla want to rebuild their team and I have an appointment there next week. They are at the end of a cycle and I think that Kanoute and Daniel Alves are no longer indispensable."
Mongai insisted that Kanoute only struggled during his first spell at Spurs because of Jol's penchant for changing his team but that would not be a problem now that Ramos was in charge.
"He feels fresh and can impress, but he will only move with a highly-rated status," he told setantasports.com.
"During his first experience there he was not playing that often because the manager made him, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe rotate."
Berbatov has agreed to stay at Spurs for the rest of the season, but is still expected to move next summer if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The Bulgarian international's agent Emil Dantchev had talks with Comolli yesterday and, while the club have dismissed the importance of the meeting, Berbatov's future was discussed.
