Kanu keen on another year with Pompey

Kanu is ready to answer one of Harry Redknapp's prayers and stay with Portsmouth for another season.

Despite interest in returning to his first club Ajax, Kanu has confirmed he is happy at Fratton Park.

The Nigerian striker, 31, who faces his old club Arsenal today with a chance of snatching a UEFA Cup place, said: "There is progress in the talks between Portsmouth and my agent. I hope they will be resolved and believe they will be.

"I've enjoyed my football since I came here from West Brom. They say I only signed for Portsmouth because no one else wanted me.

"I don't know where that information came from but it was wrong."
