Not so friendly: Sunderland manager Roy Keane looks on during the pre-season match against Sporting Lisbon
and the FA are awaiting the full details of referee Bruno Paixao's report to see if manager Roy Keane and striker Michael Chopra face being banned for the opening day of the Barclays Premier League season following Sunday's controversial friendly with Sporting Lisbon in Portugal.
Chopra was sent off by Paixao for a late lunge on Marco Caneira and Keane was then sent to the stands for arguing with the officials.
An FA spokesman has confirmed they are waiting to see if the referee's report includes their dismissals before taking further action.
Chopra faces a three-match ban and Keane could be banished to the stands for 's visit to the Stadium of Light on August 16.
Keane, who later apologised to Paixao, said: 'I think Michael was very very unlucky to get sent off and hopefully not too much will come of it.
'Anyone who knows Chops knows he can't tackle. I thought a booking would have been the worst possible scenario but unfortunately he got red.'
