Keane's lawyer Michael kennedy has held informal discussions with Sunderland over an extended deal, according to a report in The Mirror.

"There's been talks with Michael but it's all very casual. I don't know what the current situation is because I've not spoken to Michael for a while but there's no rush. I could have a conversation next week and if it feels right I will look into it," said Keane, whi is just 12 months into his current three-year £40,000-a-week deal.
