Keane: I loved working with 'honest' Jol

Tottenham striker Robbie Keane feels new manager Juande Ramos will lead the club to great things but he is adamant he was a big fan of ousted Dutchman Martin Jol.

Keane, who is Spurs' top scorer again this season with 10 in 15 starts, admits he rues Jol's exit but said: "As a player, you can't keep thinking 'is he going to go or is he going stay?'."

He told Sport magazine: "You have to be professional about it and get on with your job as normal. I just tried to ignore (the speculation)."

Keane claims Jol kept cool under pressure, saying: "He was the same as always. I haven't got a bad word to say about Martin Jol. I loved working with him, and we got on really well.

"Unfortunately we are in a results-driven business here, and if you don't get the results you have to accept it and move on.

"Martin is an honest man. He'll tell you how it is and you can have a laugh with him, which is important. I loved working with him. He was spot-on."
