Keane keen to lure Jaaskelainen

Sunderland have tabled a £2m offer for Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jasskelainen. Roy Keane wants the Finland keeper to lead his side on their return to the Premiership next season.

The Sunderland manager has the financial clout to make an impression, and believes that will be enough to persuade Jasskelainen to move north.

Keane: Offering Jaaskelainen a bumper pay rise

The 32-year-old has spent a decade with Bolton and is ready for a new challenge. He has just 12 months left on his contract at the Reebok Stadium and will be offered a bumper pay rise to move to the Stadium of Light.

Keane already has Darren Ward and Marton Fulop but wants to create a squad that can make a real impression on the Premiership and wants competition in every place, although Jasskelainen would become his number one.
