Gomes was carried off on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask following six minutes of treatment on the pitch after he was kicked in the face by Liverpool defender Philipp Degen.
He was bleeding profusely from a wound to his lip which was taped back in place by club doctor Zafar Iqbal, meaning the Brazilian did not require stitches to the wound.
Gomes, who had been at fault for both Liverpool goals before his night was brought to a painful end, is expected to have X-rays and thorough checks when he visits the Stanmore surgery of dentist Peter Rabin.
Manager Harry Redknapp is sure the keeper will be fit to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday. He said last night: "I'm sure he'll be enjoying a Chinese tonight."
