Lampard is fit to return in Istanbul

Chelsea's Champions League hopes have been boosted after Frank Lampard declared himself fit to play against Fenerbahce tomorrow night, but Andriy Shevchenko has received another snub after he was left out of Avram Grant's 20-man squad.

Lampard, who missed England's friendly in France and Chelsea's match against Middlesbrough on Sunday with an illness, is now expected to start the quarter-final first leg in Istanbul.

However, keeper Petr Cech has failed in his bid to prove he is back to full fitness after a month out with an ankle injury. He was expected to return against Arsenal 10 days ago, but is still not 100 per cent. Tal Ben Haim was also left behind in London.

Meanwhile, defender Branislav Ivanovic, who joined Chelsea from Lokomotiv Moscow for £9m in January, finally made his first appearance for the club last night in a 3-0 reserve win over West Ham.
