Late Christmas present for Caterham as they win award

Caterham School have been awarded the Evening Standard 1st XV Team of the Month award for December after eight straight wins, including a 17-15 victory at previously undefeated Cranbrook.

As Under-16s, the majority of this Caterham side went undefeated and, two years later, their winning ways have returned with victory in every regular-season fixture. Their only loss was a 17-14 cup defeat.

With Cranbrook being beaten by Caterham and Wellington College losing against St Peters in the cup, it was left to Mill Hill and St Albans to compete for the 'undefeated season' bragging rights, Mill Hill prevailing 7-6 courtesy of an Ollie Bass converted try.

There is still plenty of action to come, as teams with fixtures in hand compete to improve their league ranking, not to mention the knock-out stages of the cup and vase.
