League angry over claims in debt report

The All Party Parliamentary Football Group have called for tighter regulation of English football, as well as a reduction in he "ludicrous levels of borrowing" in the top flight.
Yet the Premier League pointed to the current success of English clubs in Europe to underline the strength of its position.
"This report comes when the quality of the English game, both on and off the pitch, has arguably never been higher and we are committed to ensuring this remains the case," the League said in a statement.
Standard Sport understands that Premier League insiders are perplexed by the timing of the report, with its findings made public one week before Chelsea, Arsenal and United will be involved in the Champions League semi-finals.
There is also scepticism about which football figures have been consulted. The only chairman who contributed was Sheffield United's Kevin McCabe, who has only one season's experience of the top flight of the game.
