Levy lays it on line for Spurs boss Jol

Levy demanded answers from the Dutchman, who discovered yesterday he will be without star striker Dimitar Berbatov for the next two weeks with a groin injury, after successive defeats against Sunderland and Everton.

Levy, who has backed Jol to the tune of £40million in the transfer market already this summer, made it clear he expects the team to gain their first win of the season against Derby at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Although there was no question of Jol losing his job last night, Levy expects Spurs to be challenging for a Champions League slot come May.
That task will be made even harder after Berbatov was ruled out for two weeks with a groin injury and Younes Kaboul limped out of the 3-1 defeat against Everton with a hamstring strain. He will be missing for a month.
Berbatov, who will visit a specialist Germany to determine the extent of the injury, played poorly in the opening 1-0 defeat at Sunderland and there are doubts at the club that his partnership with new boy Darren Bent will work.
Jol faced the axe before last season's FA Cup tie at Fulham, but he was spared when Spurs won 4-0 at Craven Cottage and the side went on to finish fifth.
Although relations with the demanding board remain fractious, the defensive crisis that exposed Spurs against Sunderland and Everton has been accepted as the reason for the poor start.
Injuries to Ledley King, Michael Dawson, Gareth Bale and Kaboul have hit the team hard.
Jol has spent £16.5m on Darren Bent, while £23.5m has been laid out on Kaboul, Kevin- Prince Boateng, Gareth Bale and Adel Taarabt.
Although Mido is going to Middlesbrough for close to £7m, there may be more new faces joining the ranks, among them West Bromwich Albion defender Curtis Davies, although the board have reservations about his lack of topflight experience.
With so many players fighting for so few places, there is discord among key figures.
Jermain Defoe is unhappy as a fourthchoice striker and others are openly questioning if they will get their chance.
Jol hopes Dawson, who is recovering from a sprained ankle, will be fit to face Derby, but the absence of King for six more weeks cannot be underestimated.
King's stand-in Anthony Gardner said: "We just need a result to go our way and we will be all right. It's a must-win game on Saturday for morale."
