LIVE CRICKET: England need 197 to win fourth Test

A really decent series, which could have gone either way but you feel the South Africans deserved to win it just. If Flintoff can stay fit, and with Pietersen hopefully gaining in confidence as new captain, England could yet be a decent force again. They'll need to iprove considerably to give the Australians a good game though.
15.15: ENGLAND WIN FOURTH TEST
England 198-4. Flintoff settles the match in typical style, smashing the ball over the bowler's head for a six.
15.12: ENGLAND 192-4. England inch towards victory and a consolation Test in this series.
15.00: WICKET! ENGLAND 182-4 Pietersen c McKenzie b Harris 13 Harris goes over the wicket and Pietersen is out, the ball popping up off his glove and snapped up by McKenzie at short leg.
14.42 ENGLAND 170-3. Collingwood and captain Pietersen have steadied the ship with Colly hitting successful fours off the unpredictable Morkel.
Alastair Cook celebrates his half century as England moved towards victory at The Oval
14.17 WICKET! 147-3. Strauss c Smith b Harris 58 England are wobbling. Strauss goes as he edges onto his pads and is snaffled by the big, safe hands of Graeme Smith. Good effort from Strauss though. Surely he has put the match beyond the visitors... two men on zero at the crease.
14.10 WICKET! 147-2. Bell b Ntini 4 And Bell goes bowled behind his legs by Ntini. You can't be bowled behind your legs in Test cricket surely. But he has.
14.00: ENGLAND 138-1. A confident on drive for four from Strauss gives him another Test half century.
13.48 WICKET! ENGLAND 123-1. Cook c Smith b Ntini 67 Cook drives at Ntini and gives a regulation catch to Graeme Smith at first slip. No great problem though, job nearly done.
LUNCH INTERVAL
13.00: ENGLAND 109-0 Strauss sees off the over and that's lunch. Cook 58 and Strauss 38.
12.48: ENGLAND 100-0 Strauss hits a three and Cook a single as they make the 100-mark partnership.
12.40: ENGLAND 90-0 Cook hits his 14th test fifty as England start to motor.
12.30: ENGLAND 72-0 Strauss flicks Harris for a quick single to leg, but Prince's throw is well wide of the stumps and England continue on their merry way.
12.11: ENGLAND 54-0 Cook advances down the track and chips Harris over mid-wicket. England look very well set to win this Test now.
Andrew Strauss of England sweeps the ball away on the final day of the fourth Test
12.01: ENGLAND 39-0 South Africa turn to spin, but Paul Harris bowls a disappinting opening over, with one ball evading Boucher and shooting through for four byes.
11.49: ENGLAND 26-0 Poor over for Morkel, with the England openers looking like they've weathered the early storm now. A wide taken by Boucher in front of first slip, and a short delivery hooked by Cook for four.
11.40: ENGLAND 14-0 There's so much sport at the moment it hasn't been that easy to get that excited about this Test. But in truth it's been a decent game, and could yet be important for England in the long term. Two important winter tours coming up - first against India (didn't we only go there five minutes ago) and then West Indies (a place England haven't been to enough in recent years in my books).
11.34: ENGLAND 10-0 Strauss flicks Morkel off his hip, and is caught by Price at leg gully. The umpire calls no ball however, and Strauss survives.
11.29: ENGLAND 10-0 Difficult first half hour for England, with Ntini and Morkel bang on targat, and messrs Cook and Srauss finding it extremely hard work. Plenty of playing and missing out there, and the South Africans can count themselves unlucky not to have an early wicket.
11.14: ENGLAND 9-0 Strauss clips through mid-wicket for a boundary.
England need a testing 197 to win the fourth Test at The Oval to give Kevin Pietersen victory in his first match as captain.
Kevin Pietersen will hope to celebrate an England victory in the fourth Test
