LIVE TEST CRICKET - DAY THREE AT HEADINGLEY

17.15: WICKET! - Andrew Strauss is out for a duck, caught by Boucher off Ntini 0. England are 3-1. What a difference a week makes.

16.50: WICKET! SOUTH AFRICA ALL OUT FOR 522 - A LEAD OF 319. Ntini is caught by Pietersen at cover off Panesar for 1. England face a massively tall order now.

1635: WICKET!  Paul Harris skies one off Panesar and is caught by Anderson for 24. The tourists are 511-9 now.

16.30: WICKET! De Villiers is finally out, caught magnificently by Flintoff off Broad for 174. South Africa are 511-8.

16.25: 501-7 The South Africans bring up the 500 - putting into perspective England's poor poor batting display on the opening day.

1545: TEA South Africa 480-7, 287 ahead.

1514: South Africa 454-7. You wouldn't best against the tourists battling until the end of the day here, and if they don't then England's openers will face a mighty uncomfortable period batting towards the end of the day.

1440:  WICKET! Morne Morkel is bowled by Monty Panesar for a duck. South Africa are 427-7.

14.30: WICKET! And about time say thousands of England supporters.  Boucher has been bowled by Anderson for 34, and the South Africans are now 422-6.

14.00: South Africa 396-5 and the way it's going England could be more than 300 in arrears when they come to bat.

13.02: LUNCH South Africa 384-5, a lead of 181. The tourists are heading for a big win here unless England can produce something extraordinary in their second innings.

12.54: AB DE VILLIERS REACHES CENTURY After an agonisingly long time stuck on 99, de Villiers scampers through for a single to bring up his hundred. Much of the crowd roundly boo him, which seems a touch unfair but they are likely still remembering the 'catch' he took on the opening day.

11.58: WICKET! Darren Pattinson grabs a second wicket on his Test debut. Prince is caught behind for 149 - the tourists are still massively in the ascendancy though.

11.40: England continue to toil, and frankly with the match two days and a few minutes old, the hosts are heading for defeat. South Africa have moved to 345-4, with Ashwell Prince unbeaten on 141 and AB de Villiers on 85. The lead is now 142 and this already looks like being a long struggle ahead.

England desperately need some early wickets on this fourth day with South Africa 322-4, already 103 ahead of the hosts.
