London is a complete rip-off, blasts Spurs' Woodgate
20 February 2008
Revealing his and his girlfriend's living arrangements, Woodgate said: 'I'm still living in a hotel. We need to find a place to live.
Spurs' hot property: Woodgate (right) is ready for Slavia Prague
'We've seen apartments, we've seen houses and all the prices and it's a lot more expensive down here than it is up north.
'I think you could buy 10 penthouses up north for the price of something down here.
'House prices are a joke, they are. It's unbelievable. When you are looking about and you see some of the houses, you think "What?"
'But that's London and that's the way it is. Hopefully, I can find a house and get settled.
'You just want the right place for you and you want to get it at the right price. You don't want to end up getting ripped off in any way, do you?
'It's expensive for everyone, isn't it? You don't want to be blowing stupid money on a house.'
The 2-1 result in Prague last week makes Juande Ramos' selection policy somewhat more complicated although, as revealed in Sportsmail yesterday, Radek Cerny's blunder against his former side does at least offer the chance of a return to action for Paul Robinson — with a place in the Carling Cup starting XI the prize for a good night's work.
The slim lead from Prague means Woodgate is likely to be required tonight and he is insistent the prospect of picking up a knock ahead of Sunday's showpiece will not see him hold back.
'I will be going out against Slavia playing 100 per cent,' said Woodgate.
'If I'm not fit for the Cup Final, then I am not fit. I will do everything I can to play for Spurs and if something happens, it happens.
'Believe you me, I won't even be thinking about the Cup Final when we play against Slavia.'
TOTTENHAM (4-4-2): Robinson; Tainio, Woodgate, Zokora, Chimbonda; Malbranque, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Lennon; Bent, Keane.
SLAVIA PRAGUE (4-2-3-1): Vaniak; Drizdal, Brabec, Latka, Hubacek; Tavares, Suchy; Krajcik, J Cerny, Pudil; Strihavka.
Referee: Jonas Eriksson (Swe).
TV: ITV4 from 7pm (kick-off 7.45).
