Low risk Lawrie shops at home
16 July 2007
Six signings at £14million were on parade yesterday, and QPR'S Lee Cook looks certain to follow this week for a further £2.4m. Of his new men, four will be straight out of the lower divisions.

Healy: top quality finisher
Strikers David Healy from Leeds and Diomansy Kamara of West Brom, along with Southampton defender Chris Baird, must prove they can handle the massive jump.
Sanchez said: "It is as much a risk as signing players from abroad, who can't speak the language.
"We did have a player from the top level in Italy last year (Vincenzo Montella) but he just looked at me and said: 'Why is English football like this?'
"People want fast and furious football or it wouldn't sell. It's very much in these players' hands to prove they are Premiership quality."
With Aston Villa pair Aaron Hughes and Steven Davis making up a quartet from Sanchez's Northern Ireland squad with Healy and Baird, plus former West Ham left back Paul Konchesky in Fulham's ranks, the manager added: "I said the policy this summer would be that we'd sign players who know what English football is about. It's a shock to the system for a lot of players who come over.
"You don't want someone with a language problem, who needs to settle into a foreign environment and then has to play at the pace which football is played in the Premiership and they need until Christmas to get settled in. We need players who have played in English football and know what is expected."
Although Healy rarely looked the same player at Leeds as with Northern Ireland, Sanchez says he will be a big hit in the Premiership. "I don't think he is a risk," he said. "He'll score goals in the top division. He wouldn't be the leading scorer in the European Championships (qualifying) if he wasn't a top quality finisher."
Sanchez sidestepped the question of Fulham's direct playing style after defender Franck Queudrue said he did not want to be part of a team who played Route One football.
"Franck made his situation clear." said Sanchez. "There are always one or two who want to move on."
On his preferred style of play, Sanchez added: "What I want is a winning mentality and to try to emulate what Reading and Blackburn did last season.
"Our job is to entertain the 26,000 we will get for most home games and you can't do that by losing 3-0 or 4-0."
