Lowe regains power at Southampton

Rupert Lowe is expected to regain power at Southampton after the club announced a meeting to confirm his replacement of chairman Leon Crouch. Former chairmen Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde called for most of the current board, including Crouch, to resign so that they can return to the club.

Lowe, who was deposed two years ago, and Wilde own 46percent of shares in Southampton and could take charge of the club once again if the EGM at St Mary's rules in their favour.

Players from Southampton and Burnley lost £2,500 in cash after their dressing rooms were raided on Saturday.

Police were called to St Mary's Stadium after five Southampton and nine Burnley players noticed money was missing.

Hampshire Police said it is investigating the incident and studying CCTV footage.
