Makelele is poised to reject Chelsea stay for move to Paris St-Germain

Claude Makelele looks set to snub the chance of ending his career at Chelsea to join Paris Saint Germain instead.

It was revealed in March how the 35-year-old, who has 12 months left on his contract, had begun talks to extend that until 2011.

The France midfielder was also believed to have been promised a coaching role as part of any deal.

Since those talks, though, the club have sacked manager Avram Grant and appointed Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The change may have affected Makelele’s thinking as reports in France claim he has now agreed to join Paris Saint Germain.
