Man City manager Hughes eyes swoop for new keeper

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes wants to sign another goalkeeper before the start of the season.

City already has Joe Hart and Kasper Schmeichel to choose from, but the off-season departure of Sweden international Andreas Isaksson to PSV Eindhoven means Hughes wants an experienced third keeper to provide backup.

'There is an opportunity there,' Hughes said. 'We have lost an experienced goalkeeper, and if we can get the right quality in we are looking to add experience.

'That's important, not only for the development of the very good young keepers we have at the club, but also because we should have the cover of an experienced keeper.'
