Manager Moyes ready to sign after Everton agree £20m transfer budget

Welcome sign: Moyes ready to commit his future to Everton

David Moyes is ready to sign a new Everton contract worth around £50,000 per week after the club outlined plans for a £20million transfer budget.

The Everton manager had been waiting for confirmation that funds would be in place to build on their fifth place Premier League finish and once in place he is poised to extend a contract that runs out next season.

Moyes has already made personal checks on at least two targets from the French League. He monitored the form of Marseille's energetic midfielder Modeste M'Bami on Saturday night after already running the rule over Bordeaux's Alou Diarra at a French training camp.

The 25-year-old M'Bami helped Marseille clinch a Champions' League place with a 4-3 win over Strasbourg and is rated at around £4m. His contract runs out next summer and efforts to make him sign a new one have so far proved fruitless.

Nuremberg's Bosnian goalscoring midfielder Zvejdan Misimovic is still under review, while Moyes continues to be linked strongly with a £4m move for Heerenveen's America prospect Michael Bradley.

Moyes is keen to bring in new faces at the earliest opportunity after being granted the transfer backing he was looking for at a budget meeting at Goodison Park last Friday
