Manchester United v Milan player ratings

Who had a devil of a time against Milan on Tuesday night and who bedevilled the Italians. Sporstmail's player ratings (marks out of 10) reveal the truth.

VAN DER SAR: 5 Should he have stood up for Kaka's first? Other than goals, quiet.

O'SHEA: 5 He's no Gary Neville, but his height is a threat from set plays.

BROWN: 4 Over-rated and over-exposed at this level. Come back, Rio. Fast.

HEINZE: 5 Can he play at centre back? Switched off for Kaka to equalise.

EVRA: 5 Crashed into Heinze on the cover in cock-up that led to Milan's second.

GIGGS: 6 Milan backed off and showed him great respect, but end product poor.

CARRICK: 5 Not the force he has been when United needed a big-game display.

FLETCHER: 6 Willing, but is that enough at this level? Improved after re-start.

RONALDO: 8 Menace who thrilled with his explosive running. Deserved more.

SCHOLES: 7 Majestic lofted pass that opened the Italians for 2-2. Still got it.

ROONEY: 9 Quiet first half, followed by sensational second half with two goals.
