Maradona backs Tevez and United

Diego Maradona has nailed his colours to Manchester United's mast for tonight's game.

The Argentina World Cup winner will be cheering on Sir Alex Ferguson's side because of his friendship with compatriot Carlos Tevez, who is expected to start the match in Moscow.

Maradona said: "Chelsea and Manchester United are two great teams. They are both very strong tactically and the level of their individual players is very high. As for a winner, I will say United because of Carlos Tevez. I have friends at Chelsea but I will be supporting United."

The 47-year-old was speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, where Maradona By Kusturica, a documentary about his life by Serbian film maker Emir Kusturica, had its premiere yesterday.
