Mark Ramprakash runs wild for Surrey against Lancashire

Mark Ramprakash has started the new season just like he finished the old one - by tormenting Lancashire and reminding England there is no better batsman in county cricket.

Chief selector Geoff Miller went to The Oval to check on Andrew Flintoff's progress but spent most of his time watching Ramprakash reel off first-class century No98 to put Surrey in command.

Last September he scored a century in each innings against the same team. He ended not out on 102 out of Surrey's 242 for two. Miller watched Flintoff take 1-24 off 10.3 overs and said: "It's encouraging."
