McSheffrey puts England on the backburner to help keep Blues in the top flight
15 June 2007
Coventry-born McSheffrey has represented England at Under-18 and Under-20 level and was tipped by Blues boss Steve Bruce last season to make the step up to senior level.

The 24-year-old is also eligible to play for Scotland and the Republic of Ireland respectively via his father and grandparents.
But the former Coventry player is only focused on helping City re-establish themselves in the top flight.
McSheffrey said: "I'm not even thinking about international football. For me, it's great to be in the Premier League and to get the opportunity to play against the best players.
"It's up to me to show I can play consistently week in and week out in the Premiership.
"Who knows what can happen after that. But international football is not an aim of mine at all at present. I will go with the flow and see what happens.
"Anything else is a bonus. At the end of the day, it is a minor issue. As long as I am playing for Birmingham and in the team, then I'm happy."
