Michael Vaughan's India plea

Former captain Michael Vaughan urged England to break their one-day duck against India today for the good of the forthcoming Test series.

England went into the fifth contest in Cuttack with many people predicting a 7-0 whitewash.

But Vaughan, who hopes to win back his place for the tour to the West Indies in the New Year, said: "We need a win or two in these last three games. If we don't, then it will be very difficult to give ourselves a lift."

England recalled opener Alastair Cook and fast bowler Steve Harmison today in place of Ian Bell and Jimmy Anderson.
