Galliani says it the length of his contract at Arsenal that has left Milan powerless and he is on the verge of conceding defeat.

The Milan official said: 'Adebayor has a contract, I'm always a pessimist by nature. Look at last year when Real Madrid said Kaka was theirs. If the club don't allow you in there's nothing you can do.

It appears AC Milan had no choice but to go for Adebayor after Galliani was told another of their targets, Chelsea's Didier Drogba, was not available for transfer.

He added: 'At the moment there is only one deal in motion. Chelsea say Drogba is not for sale.'
