Milan leave coast clear for Arsenal by claiming they can't afford Celtic's Boruc

AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has shelved his attempts to lure Artur Boruc away from Celtic - because the price is too high.
The Serie A superstars have harboured an interest in the Poland goalkeeper for more than 18 months after their Champions League showdowns with Gordon Strachan's side.

Ancelotti went public with his admiration earlier this year, naming Boruc as his No 1 choice to replace hapless Brazilian Dida.
But the Italian told Sportsmail here that he has dropped his interest in the 28-year- old amidst rumours that Celtic want in excess of £10million, a record fee for a goalkeeper in British football.
Arsenal now top the list of potential buyers after Milan' s withdrawal from the race.
"I wanted to bring Boruc to Milan about a year ago but now the price is too high," said Ancelotti. "Milan cannot afford Boruc. We made some efforts but it did not happen and now I have three goalkeepers, in any case."

As recently as two weeks ago, Milan general manager Ariedo Braida admitted Celtic's No1 was a priority signing for the club, saying: "Boruc is a wonderful goalkeeper, he has been incredible for the last couple of years.
"We are going to lose Dida, possibly Zeljko Kalac, so we need to bring in a new one. Boruc has a big price tag, £10m is a lot of money, but I cannot exclude anything."
However, Ancelotti's admission means that Milan are now poised to turn their gaze elsewhere, despite missing out on another target, Nice's French Under-21 star Hugo Lloris, to Lyon.
