Milan open door for Shevchenko to exit Chelsea

AC Milan are ready to offer Andriy Shevchenko a way out of his Chelsea hell.

Milan sold Shevchenko to the Blues 12 months ago for £30.9million - but will take him back if a cut-price fee, believed to be around £15m, can be agreed.

You want me?: Shevchenko could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge

The 30-year-old endured a miserable season at Stamford Bridge, failing to hold down a regular first-team place due to poor form accentuated by injuries.

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliano has been in touch with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon and Blues' owner Roma Abramovich is expected to hold talks with Shevchenko this week to discuss his future.

The Ukraine striker has insisted publicly he wants to stay at Chelsea and Abramovich is keen to keep him. But if the striker, who is reportedly earning £130,000-a-week is unhappy, Abramovich will let him go.

It seems likely that AC Milan's overtures would be welcomed by Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho, who grew frustrated by Shevchenko's lacklustre displays last year.
