Millwall's appeal plea over Leeds

Millwall have asked the Football League to delay revealing the outcome of Leeds' appeal against their 15-point penalty until after this weekend's game between the clubs, due to fears of violence among supporters.

The sides meet at The Den on Saturday, by which time Leeds are likely to know if any of the points they were docked by the League for allegedly breaking competition rules on insolvency last season will be restored.

Matches between Millwall and Leeds have been notable for their tension off the pitch, but a Football League spokesman said: "We have not acted, as it is for the arbitration to decide on the conduct of the process."

Leeds' hearing begins in London today. If the club are handed back all 15 points, they would climb to second in League One.
